Portrait of Sarah Jordan-Ross

South Launceston, Tasmania

Born in Lismore and raised across regional New South Wales, Sarah grew up with a natural curiosity about people and the world around her. A childhood shaped by movement — from the Northern Rivers to Glen Innes, Sydney, Bathurst, and eventually Moree where she finished high school — gave her an early instinct for listening, observing, and connecting across different communities and walks of life.

That restless curiosity followed her into adulthood, taking her to the UK, Canada, as far north as Cape Tribulation, and eventually to her home in South Launceston, Tasmania.

Along the way, Sarah built a career rooted in human wellbeing — studying Sociology, working as a remedial massage therapist, and running her own family wellness centre. But it was her own lived experience — navigating loss, late motherhood, caregiving, and the quiet identity shifts that midlife brings — that called her toward a different kind of work.

"You don't need to be healed to be helpful. You just need to be honest."

Taboo Talk with Sarah was born from the belief that the conversations we most need to have are the ones we keep finding excuses to avoid. From grief and mental wellness to caregiving and the cracks in the healthcare system, Sarah creates a space where nothing is off the table and no one has to feel alone.

The stories and conversations shared by Sarah Jordan-Ross are intended to encourage honest dialogue, personal growth, and healing through shared experiences. Sarah is not a licensed counselor or mental health professional, and nothing shared should be taken as professional medical or therapeutic advice. If you need support for your mental health or wellbeing, we encourage you to connect with a qualified healthcare professional in your area.
